HELP US MAKE HISTORY IN LORETO! LARGEST SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC COMING OCT 13!! OVER 200 SIGNED UP ALREADY!!
We are thrilled to share news of the upcoming spay/neuter clinic in Loreto, and even more excited to announce that in just 3 days we not only filled each of the 200 appointment spaces available, but already have quite a wait list! This campaign will be the largest that Loreto has seen and assuming it goes well, this model will become an important tool for significantly reducing the overpopulation problem of dogs and cats here in town by providing high-volume clinics during summer months when a lot of the spay/neuter programs close for the season. By having year round free sterilization programs, we will see a major reduction of dogs and cats born into hardship and suffering; a shared goal amongst so many of us!
We have an extraordinary medical team arriving from Los Cabos (their level of experience and skill is unmatched), the venue is secured (a thousand gracias to the amazing folks at Perpuli school in Miramar), volunteers are beginning to sign up (we need 50+), and now we need to keep raising funds.
This is where you come in! Can you help us make history by sponsoring an animal (or two, or more) to receive this life bettering surgery? Each operation costs 600 pesos (about US $32) which includes a 3 day anti-inflammatory/pain shot. We also have additional costs with some supplies, and food for the medical team/volunteers on clinic day.
This clinic is being held in memory of Diane Henley, a huge lover of all animals and 100 dogs & cats are being sponsored in her name. A beautiful tribute to a remarkable woman. We are well on our way towards our goal of being able to pay for 200 surgeries. Now we just need to get the second half covered. Any amount you can donate truly does help!
This clinic is a proud collaboration between Stray Paws, Soft Paws, Animalandia, and our friends from Mulege; sharing is caring and we are all thrilled to be a part of this big event!
Donations can be sent to:

It was a very busy and successful three days at Animalandia Loreto in January 2024 where a total of 105 dogs and cats were sterilized. Special thanks go to Dr. Emily Hays, Vet Tech Aimee Mueller and recovery coordinator Dana Pixie who came all the way from Durango, Colorado at their own expense and also provided medical supplies for the clinic. Thanks also go to Deb Stuart who worked tirelessly to make sure the clinic came off without a hitch.
There are many people who volunteered their time to make this clinic a success. Please click HERE to view the Facebook post for more information.
